So maybe you heard that the world was ending? SURPRISE!
Ok, no it’s not, but something is changing and maybe you’ve noticed or you’re just noticing it.
2012 has been loaded with experiences, happiness, pain, joy, everything. Back in November when a friend asked me how I was, my reponse was “I’m just sitting here feeling all my feelings at once”. It wasn’t a bad thing and my 2012 has been a positive time, but the sentiment really summed up this year well.
I’ve seen friends go through more change, pain and success than ever before. I’ve explained to friends and clients that this year has been the spin cycle of our life, everything washing through, super fast, the Universe forcing you to deal with all you’ve ever needed to, opportunities flying from here and there, everything new, old and unexpected at once, feeling like you’ve been spat out over and over again. It’s come in its best and worst forms, the most toxic of relationships, the perfect job opportunities, the greatest…
I know I’m putting this as part three (please also read one and two in conjunction with this) but It’s probably the most important thing to practice once you are aware of your energy and have become accustomed to protecting it and maybe also noticing when you haven’t?
I also want to say that all of these energy posts are very beneficial even from a totally non spiritual perspective, energy is what we are made of, so just remember that even just the mood of another person is enough to change your mood. It’s all part of considering ourselves holistically and doing our best to look after our health.
❤ Ok so what does being ‘grounded’ mean?
When we are fully grounded we are totally in the present moment, it means we are connected to our feelings and our bodies. We feel focused and energised. Grounding is feeling connected to the earth element, so the feeling of being literally ‘on the ground’.
To illustrate this It might be easier to give some examples of what feeling ‘ungrounded’ could be like.

I want to share with you some thought practices I have been working on for the past week. I have felt such a huge positive response in myself that I’ve been dying to pass it on. This is by no means a new discovery but I feel that everything we learn and take in has to be practiced so it becomes our own truth, as opposed to someone else’s.The practice is – SURRENDER
I believe the Universe looks after us, we have a path on which we are meant to follow, sometimes we go on and off it but there is a life purpose for everyone.
This is of course is dependent on if we allow this to happen, if we accept a sense of flow into our lives and be open to being guided. To allow the Universe to take the steering wheel we have to trust this to be true which can be the challenge for a lot of us. I believe fully in all of the above and totally trust the Universe has my back but I still struggle often to completely relinquish control.Control
This is the challenge word, and our challenge – to ‘let go’, we hear it and see it everywhere. We tell ourselves or people tell us a number of things such as – ‘Let go of things’, ‘Let go of control’, ‘Stop obsessing’, ‘Don’t think about that’ and so on. It sounds so easy, hey sure let’s just let go, woo, great! but doesn’t the idea of ‘letting go of control’ associate with the opposite which would be being ‘out of control’ which sounds so negative to me, the idea of being out of control, like we have no power over our lives at all, or that we are making ‘crazy’ choices, woah ‘she’s so out of control!’

ENERGY – Part 2 – How to clear and clean your energy.
Ok, so the previous Energy post was about recognising that you have your own energy field and how other peoples emotions and the outside environment can change how you feel, hence doing the visualisations to keep your space YOUR space.
I want to help you to take responsibility for how you feel and to respect your body, mind and spirit. By learning how to recognise our emotions and how they make us feel and to become familiar with our own energy makes us able to cope with our day to day stresses more easily and happily.
So now that you have been practising recognising and protecting your energy field, what can you do to clear yourself if you notice that you feel a little energy drained?

I have a lot of questions from people about energy protection and also notice myself offering advice to people because i notice when they are unknowingly taking on feelings and stresses from other people.
This piece is a basic introduction to thinking about yourself as an energetic being and I believe it is one of the keys to beginning to look after yourself in the way that you deserve.
I first started to really think about and consider my own energy as a physical and spiritual thing when I first moved to London about 12 years ago. Although I’d already for a few years been heading down towards my spiritual path I hadn’t really got to grips with my own space and how to look after myself.
❤ What is energy?
If you think about everything being made of energy, you, the floor, the table, your book, your pets, the trees and so on, so we are all connected, we are all made from the same stuff, you are me, I am you. You ARE energy.
Following on from this, becoming familiar with your own energy means that you then will consciously become more aware of other peoples and the energy of your environment around you.
This in turn can help you find it easier to understand how to cope in situations and also notice when and how you need to think about protecting your own space.

I love Astrology, like you say once you explore into where all the planets are than that is what shows you more about the person. Of course I won’t be like every other Scorpio but when you look at my moon (pisces), rising (Taurus) and other planets then the picture is very much me, even down to the type of work I do (Creative & healing). So I am really into it. In fact I love looking at my chart as I have all my planets in three signs so find it hilarious thinking of all the useful things I must be missing out on.
I have a good friend who is brilliant at all things Astrology, she always teaches me about what the planets are up to and I read articles from my favourite astrologers (Mystic Medusa, The Astro Twins, Astro Barry and Astrology Zone).
I definitely identify with the subject. Once at the Psychic college I attend I had a short reading with an astrologer and it was really great to experience the subject in a reading form, not unlike for instance the Tarot. One of my dearest friends saw Astro Barry for a reading once and said it was the mos accurate and inspiring reading she’s every had.

I read recently that procrastination is merely a form of avoidance & fear.
I believe (and have experienced) this to be a perfect description.
So how do we find a solution to our procrastinating, how do we break the bad habit of avoiding doing what we should be doing?
It’s all about the FIRST step, the hardest one to take. Sometimes I find myself avoiding things and knowing it’s just because I am afraid to make the move. Or sometimes avoidance comes because we don’t want to face a sad, scary or awkward situation.
But, where does this get us? nowhere, in fact it leads us to doubt ourselves more, prevents us from moving on and it leads us to actually let in the fear and the ego and being to believe that we aren’t capable of things. We start to make negative comments like ‘I can’t do that’.
Which is worse, ‘failing’ or doing nothing at all? I think we all know the answer. Choosing to be afraid of failing or just choosing to be afraid of a situation isn’t moving forward, it’s stepping backwards into our comfort zone believing that we are better without the worry of the ‘what if?’
The ‘what if?’
When I was younger I really fell prisoner to the ‘what if’ feeling, so many things I thought or wanted to do came with this tag and often led me to become static and also unhappy. I often stayed within my comfort zone and also was very afraid of a lot of things. I only really pulled out of this because of a life experience that changed the way I looked on things and also my concept of fear itself.
Now when I feel like I could be worrying about a situation I think it’s important to switch around the thoughts and turn the ‘what if’ into a positive:
What if everything works out great? / What if he/she’s the love of my life? / What if it’s a huge success? / What if I have a good time? / What if it helps me? / What if i end up happy?
It’s only really a simple case of glass half full or half empty and if what you do doesn’t go to how you planned it then you have the joy of your effort. When you’re dealing with a difficult or painful situation then you can be glad that you HAVE dealt with it, you didn’t hide or run away, and now you can go forward.
I used to be really afraid of flying. ‘What if the plane crashes?’ to other things like ‘what if I get sick in flight?’ and when you have these thoughts then no amount of logic helps you turn from the feeling of fear.
When I started flying again (after six years!) the thing that actually pushed me to be able to do it was visualising how proud I would be of myself when I’d arrived at my destination, to be able to message my family and send that ‘landed’ text that we always send each other.
It was seeing myself within in the positive result (a good example of positive visualisation) happy that I’d taken that step to get through a fear and proving that love was way stronger than the fear itself.
First step = Movement.
I believe that if you can take that one step forward then the Universe will take three more for you, you will get a nudge when you’re moving in the right direction. This has been proven to me time and time again.
Be willing to let go of control and to embrace FLOW.
Don’t be scared of: The unknown, of starting new projects, of finishing old ones, of saying hello, of saying goodbye, of letting go of the past, of letting go of illnesses or friendships, of making new connections, of saying sorry, of working hard, of taking a break, of forgiving someone,
of saying YES.
Thank you for writing <3 I’ve never experienced any opposition from anyone, in fact the total opposite, I only ever experience interest and love in this direction. I also believe very strongly against preaching and judging and so I’m sure that reflects back to me in response. I don’t feel like I’m being brave, it’s just being content with sharing the life I lead / try to lead and respecting everyone elses.
I see myself as living spiritually but also just always trying to keep a positive life attitude and believing in the powers of synchronicity and following your dreams. I’m really happy to see more and more people starting to live by their own ‘truths’. as that’s where it’s best to start, from inside, knowing that we know our own answers and then we don’t need to question or oppose anyone elses. Our beliefs will always come from our own experiences too. For instance my interest in holistic health is because I recovered from a long term illness holistically, it worked for me and so I support that. I love love science but I don’t need ‘proof’ for things. I think we have moved way out of a Dawkins age, you just have to notice it.
Do not be afraid —> say NO to fear
Fear is what stops you from doing what you want/should be doing and being who you want/should be.
say YES to everything… take opportunities.
Don’t be afraid of LOVE to be loved, to give love. Give love to everyone, everyday, and project love at the things that you find difficult.
—— work HARD - don’t waste the opportunities that you are given in this life.
Meditate - a little every day, learn to clear your mind.
make positive LISTS and FOLLOW them —- little by little
Be a good brother, sister, mother, father, son, daughter - say THANK YOU as often as you should and be kinder to your family, understand that they are different to you and are on their own path, do not be angry, be sympathetic and be thankful for everything they do that helps you. TEACH them but in a way that they can understand, learn to speak their language
Do not WORRY about failure - things and circumstances change all the time. Do not be afraid to let go of the fears.
Do not be scared to be SUCCESSFUL
Be PATIENT - send out what you want to the universe and trust that it will come.
- Release anxieties about past loves, in this life and in the others. STOP SPINNING IN CIRCLES, break cycles. Don’t be afraid to grow out of your comfort zone.
DO NOT BE AFRAID TO RECEIVE LOVE
Be LOVELY AND KIND to your friends. Understand they are on their own paths and try to help and heal them.
LEARN - do not be afraid to work hard.
RELEASE yourself from your past. LET GO, FLOW.
WORK HARD — BE NICE
I don’t know if you’ve looked through this blog before but I wrote a little on this subject here - http://dissolvingtheveil.tumblr.com/post/8428635479/tips-to-get-rid-of-negative-energy-emotions-1 and would recommend all of those techniques for this situation.
I think it’s important that you have a good energy protection visualisation that works for you, my favourite is a bubble or cloak. You can also visualise one around the person in question.The mirror visualisation is also very helpful.
It would be a great idea to really try and keep check of your own thoughts and moods and try to recognise when a feeling is maybe not your own and something you might have picked up from that person. I think we can all recognise sometimes feeling grumpy and not knowing why, chances are it’s not even our mood!
To clear your energy system you can do a few things.
- Visualise a bright waterfall of light sweeping over you and washing off any dust. You could also imagine it is water.
- Visualise yourself in your own perfect bubble of energy, if you feel like you have a part of you that is creeping away (often with partners we join our energy to theirs with little cords or ties) you could visualise them being cut so you are only in your own space.
- Invent your own personal set of goals and mantras to keep you positive, they could be sentences you say in your head or out loud e.g I am happy and full of love and light. By reminding yourself of this then you ARE those thoughts. If you see yourself as a happy and positive person then you will be.
- Just be aware, which you obviously are, if you feel like you are having a lot of negative thoughts, try one/all of the above. If you can try and give some advice to the person too, (maybe they won’t take it) but if you can find a way to help them turn their negativity around it will be inspiring for you. Also try and always be positive TO them even though their negativity might make you want to respond in the same way as them, just send love to where they don’t have any and it will help.

If you feel like you want to get back into Tarot then it’s probably the right choice to do so, maybe it’s calling you again.
Firstly I’d go back into it with a clear and positive state of mine, because if you start reading again with the negative feelings from previously then it won’t help you start a fresh.
There are many ways to clear your tarot deck. Find one that works the best for you, or try them all.
- Leave them on the window sill to absorb the day - sunlight or night - moonlight.
- Store them with a Quartz crystal which will help keep them clear. Quartz is the universal crystal and very powerful at clearing negative energy. (Remember crystals also need clearing so leave the crystal on the window to get the sunlight too! - or you can bathe it in a glass of salt water.
- Have a good sort of them, split up the Major and Minor Arcana and spend a moment looking at them and remembering their meanings, tidy them up and then have a really good shuffle with a strong intention of positivity and newness.
- Visualisation and meditation: Sit quietly with your cards and visualise a white light coming down through the cards and through your body, clearing you and them of any negative energy, thoughts or fears, imagine a warm light of love and positivity filling the deck and you. Your affirmation prayer is always a good way to start a reading too, asking for help from only the highest source of power and protection from your guides and Angels.
- Sleeping with the cards under your pillow is also a nice way of merging your energy with them.
- If you are reading for other people, then consider a separate pack for them and keep yours for just your own personal use.
Also treat your cards with respect and look after them, keep them rolled up in a silk scarf or in a nice wooden box.
I love crystals and often start the morning off in bed holding my quartz to help realign my thoughts and body, and I will often leave my cards with the quartz on top of them on the window sill.

Try not to read the cards too often either, if you want to do a reading each day, just pull out one - three cards. A big spread maybe only do once every 6 months or a specific spread if you have a pressing question you want to have a bit of help with.
Lastly if you start reading again and it just doesn’t feel ‘right’ then maybe the cards aren’t the right thing for you and you could look into other things, psychic development classes, iching, runes, palmistry, the list in endless.
I’ve never used a pendulum before. a Pendulum is a tool for answering questions and for guidance through a YES or NO answer, so yes more for divination as opposed to using it to connect to spirit. However the pendulum could also be influenced by spirit so using one you should always bless it and make sure you’ve created a safe and clear space, as well as experimenting for a long time with it to know what movements yes and no are, as well as making sure you ask questions that are not ego minded.
